INTRODUCTION:

The IRIS courses provide an environment to experience preparation of a high-quality research study protocol. Preparing a high-qualitystudy protocol helps to prepare a feasible “doable” project. But not only, it serves also as a concise piece of a text for a manuscript which ought to be a natural outcome of anystudy.Participant of the IRIS courses are often surprised that we do not provide any tutorial or teaching materials during the IRIS courses. This decision has beenbased on our previous experience that providing a tutorial decreased paradoxically the creativity of participants, since they had a tendency tofollow the tutorial. Additionally, notutorial is able to cover the rich diversity of biomedical research.However, we have decided to prepare this “after-course-tutorial” that could serve as taking-home notes from this course.
